Costume

We have decided to have the main character in dirty clothes, so that the audience can see she has been in trouble or a bad situation. The blood stains on her clothes will suggest she has been involved in violence in some way or may make the audience think she is a murderer. We will use oil or wet Catherines hair to make it seem that she is unhygienic or does not have the facilities with her. By making her seem 'dirty' we can show the audience that she does not fit in with society, implying her mental problems. We have decided to put the child in white to show that she is not there in reality. The contrast in white to stained white clothes that Catherine will wear shows who is real and who is the hallucination.
